Spammers

Hi,

A simple request, please stop the spammers, there must be a simple way to stop them registering or at the very least have their threads removed quicker?

I do that quite a bit, I was just wondering if there these are bots registering and spamming or is someone just sitting there doing it manually? If it's a bot then there must be a way to stop it..

we've got about 10,000 IP addresses of bots blocked but they keep changing and causing problems.

Over on dumpstersluts we got 1000's per day but once we put the first 2 posts with no links rule, it stopped them, sadly they haven't stopped here, it's very frustrating and 90% of mod and admins time is spent dealing with these idiots.

There hasn' been a reported post since the 11th of March.

Really? i'm sure i've reported plenty since then.. anyway, i've started reporting again now, just slowed down by the 1 minute gap I have to give between reports. :)

I've changed the time between posts to 10 seconds.

I've just got two reports in my inbox which I've removed.

I've just blocked 5 big time spammers. hopefully that will slow the influx of these idiots down.
