No, you didn't have to be. It's just everyone in this country is so afraid to called them black people they all refer to the dark community as "African-American" which means they were born in Africa, then became American citizens. Just another way the media influences the public.

I know what you mean, the White-Black thing in America is such a sensitive topic (and often seems blown out of proportions) compared to how it is here in the UK, I mean black guys over here are not ever called African-Englishmen :P .
