What's your method for getting candids?

So, how do you guys do it? I see a lot of great work on this site and often wonder how some of the shots were pulled off when there are tons of people around and sometimes people looking directly at them.

Give us a tutorial for your method.

I've heard some people say to pretend like you're texting someone. But usually the phone is horizontal to the ground when doing something like that. If you're holding it up vertically as a girl walks by, it can easily be seen as suspicious.

And the best, is when someone snaps pics with an actual digital camera. This is even more risky and yet, some of you still manage to pull it off. How?

Grow some balls get a camera and take some pics,as long as they are in public you can take pics of anyone.

Well I'm looking for tips on how to be covert about it. Running out and not even bothering to be secretive about it seems like a great way to get yourself confronted by store security, pissed off boyfriend, etc.

a samsung camera phone nothing expensive it has a flash card memory avaliabl so i have a 2 g memory card.....i used to be pretty nervous about taking candidts also but when you learn to use you pererial vision it helps alot... first i walk around you know scoping out the girls when i see one i like i dont let my self be noticed and walk around behind them for a while to see when and if they stop.. if they do and im like at a store and they stop in an isle then i go in as well pretending to be looking for somethiing as well i have my camera phone ready to go as im doing this i hold it on my side alighned directly with the line on my pants and stane if not next to them then directly behind them and begin snaping away but whyle looking at something on a shelf or if not atually pic up an object in the same hand as my pone and pretend to be reading it this way im actually able to look at my phonsreen and take a few nice pics with out looking so obvious then put my hand back to my side and snap some more,usualy i will take one look at it if my alighnment is of i put my phone to the side again and move positions acording to the previous pic and once i think i got it snap away, it has alot to do with trusting your shot if your gonna do it with a camera phone and practice as well i got a phew more techs. let me now if ytou canuse som more

make sure your phone has the option of turnning the shutter sound off

Pretend To Be Texting On Your Phone... If They Cant See Your Screen They Won't Know... Although Funny Story One Time I Really Was Texting And I Was Leaning Against My Car As My Gas Was Pumping Not Really Caring And This Chick Walks Up To Me And Is All Like As If and Says What Are You Doing Taking Pics Of Me... I was Like No I was Texting... But For The Most Part People Won't Give A Shit If They Think You are Texting...
