hey guys, there's a spammer that keeps using the title.
Does your wife know that you visit porn and dating sites?
if you see this listed on here do not go to their site it's full of viruses and they're trying hard to control your computer.
if you have gone to their site, I suggest you go to:
Fix Spyware/Malware problems (http://forum.dumpstersluts.com/showthread.php?t=31373)
to find a few pieces of software that will help remove their crap spyware.

I am sorry these bastards keep managing to get in, I delete their messages as soon as I see them and blacklist their username and IP address, but sadly they just keep coming back.

Lately I've seen a lot of other people spamming around a lot.
It seems they register an account and only post a message once.
Because this spam message has links in it, it gets filtered out because the user has only one post. But is there any way we can ban these (spam bots?) from the forum?
Maybe a keycode you need to enter before registration, or an activation e-mail system.
But that's just if we're dealing with spam bots. If not, the solution might be more difficult. But since they're too dumb to look if their posts turned out right, I think they're just spam bots.

i agree with keycode/email idea, but most of the spammers on this site are not spam bots like those fuckers from Karl share or whatever the fuck its called

Is there some kind of plugin for vBulletin to automatically filter out spam? I run a program called Askimet on a Wordpress blog of mine & basically it just auto filters out stuff. From my experience it is worthless to blacklist their IPs. Because usually it is coming from a bot that pulls from an IP pool. So it will be a random different IP each time. On my blog the spammers were able to SPOOF my regsitering system where they didn't even have to register to post like everyone else did.

I've been trying a few different things, lately the best way to keep surfers safe is the most post 3 posts rule. I know it scares a few new users off but it's been good to get quality posters here as they work it out and continue to contribute.
we will continue the fight and see if there's a better system.

I don't know a lot about vBulletin, I'm more of an Invision man myself. But won't a plugin like that filter out any good things (posts/threads) as well?
I agree on the fact that it's useless to blacklist their IPs because it's a different one everytime.
@ garv:
I think the 3 post rule is a big step forward in keeping spammers and virusses away from the board. But still, the topic list gets filled up with useless topics. And so the forum database will also be filled up with useless topics, thus costing server space and bandwidth.
Which, in the long run, will make this site slower to load.

After the poster has reached the 3 post limit and is then able to post links,,,,the
first posts are deleted if they are not part of an existing thread,,thereby freeing up the space...So none of that is a problem... The 3 post Rule is showing up alot of spammers before they get a chance to even get to their second post,,,and are Banned along with their IP,,,and both are reported for spamming.

You guys are obviously good at your jobs as I've never seen any spam in my times of browsing here. (And it's a lot)
And answering that spammer's question: No wife means no limits.
