I recently got this phone. The camera has decent quality but there are 2 huge downfalls. when taking a picture, i am yet to find a way to disable the sound. Ive been looking through the brew folders using bitpim, but to no avail. Second, when in either vid or cam mode, the picture also shows up on the front, anyone know way to disable this too?

You could always just cover the picture it's showing, but I have the same phone and I'm pretty sure you can't disable the sound. Putting it on silent does nothing. Hope there is some solution though, otherwise I can't use it for that. It's really loud too, eh?

i have the same phone. just turn on the camera and go to settings then go to shutter sound and put it on silent. u can also turn off the exterior screen by going to front display and just turn it off.

I sadly dont have those options. Im guessing my carrier nerfed the firmware. Im thinking about getting it unlocked but im not sure if it would change anything. Im on telus btw.

Is it a Verizon phone? I had an LGVX8300 but now I'm using the 2006 Chocolate VX8500. You should be able to go to camera mode and press

options>shutter sound>silent

also try for the front screen
options>front display>off.

Damnit sorry I didn't read ahead, disregard what I said...your service provider definitely f'ed something up.
